What to Expect At Your First Appointment
When you come in for your first hearing appointment, we will have you fill out some forms about your hearing loss and hearing ability. You can fill out these forms in our front waiting room and our friendly front office staff will be happy to help you or answer any questions. After you’ve filled out your paperwork our audiologist will come out to greet you and bring you back for your evaluation.
- We begin the audiological evaluation with a conversation. We will go over the paperwork you filled out and gather information about your hearing loss and family history.
- Then we begin the hearing portion of the exam. We will test what tones and frequencies you are having trouble hearing and determine what type and degree of hearing loss you have.
- After the evaluation we will go over your options for hearing aids. Our audiologist will explain the different types of technology available, as well as make a recommendation.
- We encourage you to discuss your results with your family or friends before making a decision. We will never pressure you to purchase hearing aids, we just want you to be informed about your options.
