Hearing Aids

We have a hearing aid for everyone.

Hearing Aids at Professional Hearing Solutions

At Professional Hearing Solutions, we are experts in hearing aids and hearing aid technology. Our audiologist has over 25 years of experience working with hearing aids. Dr. Jickell began her career in audiology when hearing aids had to be programed by hand, giving her the knowledge to fully understand their components. Over the years, she evolved with the technology and is an expert in the programing software needed to properly fit and program hearing aids to an individual’s unique hearing loss.

Hearing Aid line up at Professional Hearing Solutions

Hearing aids have come a long way in recent years. Patients often imagine hearing aids of the past, which were big and bulky, and often squealed when in use. Hearing aids today are incredibly small, and sleek in design. They no longer give whistling feedback and provide the wearer with crystal clear hearing. We carry hearing aids from the leading hearing aid manufacturers. Because we are an independent practice, we have the freedom to choose which manufacturers we work with. This gives us a wider range of options to better fit our patients.

Hearing Aid Technology

We carry the latest hearing aids that feature a wide range of technological advancements. Hearing aids now have noise suppression. This reduces background noise and puts you in more control over what sounds you want to hear. There are also some devices that have Bluetooth connectivity that provide patients with a seamless listening experience. You can connect your hearing aids to your smartphone or TV and stream phone calls, music, and other audio directly to your devices. Bluetooth hearing aids make phone conversations easier and provide you with clearer hearing. You can also control your hearing aids through an app on your smartphone. Instead of taking your hearing aids out and manually adjusting the volume you can now control the volume discreetly through an app.

Some hearing aids are rechargeable. Instead of changing batteries, you simply place your hearing aids on their charging station and within a few hours you will have a full day of hearing. Rechargeable hearing aids are convenient for those who have dexterity issues because they don’t require any small components be opened to change the batteries. If you are interested in Bluetooth or rechargeable hearing aids then contact us today. We will go over your options for hearing aids and discuss which one would be best for your lifestyle.

How to Choose the Right Hearing Aid

There are many options of hearing aids, and without the right help it can seem overwhelming. At Professional Hearing Solutions, we are here to help you choose the right hearing aid for your hearing loss and lifestyle. Depending on your degree of hearing loss, you may need a more powerful hearing aid. Hearing aids with a higher level of technology are often better for those with severe or profound hearing loss because they have more power in them. Another important factor we consider is your lifestyle and what type of listening environments you are in the most. If you live a very active lifestyle and are in busy settings, are on the phone, or in meetings most of the time, then you need a higher level of technology. If you live a more sedentary lifestyle, you stay indoors and have more one-on-one interactions, then you don’t need as powerful of a device

We will have a conversation with you about where you spend your time, what your hearing goals are, and what you want to accomplish with hearing aids. Based on this information we will make a recommendation on a hearing aid that we believe will provide you with the best sound quality and will meet all of your individual hearing needs.
